one of the reasons I cancelled my Air Pure order was from the real world reports on range. Lucid was attractive to me due to range and charging speed. Range isnt that much better than my current Tesla and the Pure only maxes out at 250kw. On top of that the Pure no longer comes with lane keep.
I was also considering a Pure to replace my Tesla. By EPA numbers, the Pure should be much more efficient than my Tesla. My Tesla is rated at 33 kWh/100 miles, the Pure is rated at 24 kWh/100 miles. But from what I have read, I'd guess the actual performance would probably be about the same. I don't understand why that would be.

Yup, it was certainly promising as Tom on Youtube demonstrated the dream performing very well on the highway test. I'm not sure if something changed from those original tested vehicles to mass production.

I convinced 3 friends to put down deposits on Lucid but they have all since cancelled. I still have 1 reservation but have been irked with Lucid pulling both lane keep and 300kw charging on the Pure. There are just too many alternatives now to Lucid that are from more stable companies that you know will be there in 4 years to support your car. Don't want like a Karma situation where your car value plummets because Lucid runs out of money and can't support your car any longer.

I have been following this thread. I now have about 5,000 miles on my Air GT. I just returned from a round trip from San Diego to Palm Springs. I held the DreamDrive to about 70 MPH, ambient temp was in the mid-high 60's. Smooth setting on the drive. I saw 3.2 mi/Kwh going, and 3.3 on the return. My total trip computer B which has never been reset shows 3.2 mi/Kwh since new. I have never seen anything over 3.4. My wife just took delivery of an iD.4. She routinely is getting 4.1 - 4.3 mi/Kwh. How is my friends Mach-e and the iD.4 doing this and our amazing Lucid not able to do this? I love the car, and they continue to give new S/W updates, but the service dept. has not had any solution to the range issue.
What size tires do you have?

I have about 3000 Miles on my GT and range has steadily improved. I had a hard time getting above 3.1 initially and now get 3.8 on highway: Note I have 21 inch wheels and 19 inch wheels. The 21 inch wheels with performance tires have significantly less range than the 19s

The Torrance dealer tells me I should see an improvement when I'm at 2000 miles odometer. I don't see the logic in this! I'm currently at 780 miles on Smooth, driving like an old lady and the best I get is 3 miles / Kwh

Has anyone experienced this and if so what was the solution. Appreciate any feedback.

Thank you

Joseph

I get 2.9 with no highway driving

We own a Touring sedan with 19" wheels and just returned from a one month vacation/road trip. We logged over 3,000 mostly highway miles on this trip and averaged 3.5 m/Kwh. Not close to the 4.5 advertised. Looking back at other cars I've owned and comparing EPA fuel economy to actual miles/gal, I never got close there either. Could be me. Could be the EPA. Cold be the mfg. I would be happier with more. Lucid may be able to help (like Tesla did) by tweaking software to improve range.

the EPA range is essentially self provided. The Germans especially the Taycan far outperform their EPA numbers along with the Etron GT. The BMW iX and Mercedes EQS both do exceptionally well on the highway and beating their EPA #s in the real world.

Although Tesla misses their EPA numbers they outperform all other EVs when it is cold. The latest refresh on S and X have also improved on overall efficiency. I get about 3.4 m/Kwh on my X Plaid

I'm quite disappointed about the Lucid efficiency as that is one of the biggest draws to it. EVs has progressed since the Lucid was announced.

Although the Lucid efficiency is disappointing, Rivian takes the cake there. Users are reporting that even on standby it drains about 30%+ of the battery pack. A Rivian would drain more power and money than what it takes for me to charge on a monthly basis on my model Y

I have a GT with 19" wheels, picked up in December 2022. 1900 total miles, all in cold winter conditions in Ohio. Yesterday the temp was 73 degrees; first warm day since I've had the car. I went on a 50 mile trip, mostly freeway, cruising at 68 MPH. I set the trip meter at start of the trip and at the end the mileage was exactly 5.0 mi/KWh. My previous range in cold weather was 3.4mi/KWh, so warm weather and conservative driving made a huge difference.

That is good to hear. I have yet to see anyone except Tom from State of Charge achieve those #s. Even for Lucid owners in sunny Southern California. Sounds like perhaps Lucid needs to hurry and get heat pumps
