I know you think I’m crazy, but I would actually pay extra if I could just get the same color seats front and rear. Right now it’s a deal killer for me. The exterior of the car says plenty - why enter the car expecting serene luxury only to say ‘what happened here? Just my thoughts…

Hey @DMB65 welcome to the forum! What color would you want your seats to be? Would you consider getting them reupholstered?

Almost any color as long as the front seats in the backseats match- black, beige, gray, anything. I had a car on order with lucid and after discussions with the salesman and the unwillingness of Lucid to provide me the same color seats, both front and back, I canceled my order and got my refund back. It’s just hard for me to believe that they wouldn’t give you the same color seats front and back. I even offered to pay $3500 extra in cash. I’m sure they’re trying to make a statement, but this is kind of silly. I have the entire email chain if anyone is interested. Why couldn’t it be an option?

That's why I went with the Mojave. Not the same but at least in same color family. But was not close to a deal breaker for me.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I also am unhappy with the goofy change of color between the front and rear seats.

I tried to get them to give me saddle leather front and rear with natural wood finish and black carpets (and would pay extra) and was told no.

I hope at some point they jettison the ex. Sears design crew they bungled into and just give customers what they want (and watch sales explode).

Pride is sometimes dangerous. Right now, they probably don’t need our orders. Maybe in the next year or two it will be an option. The saddest part is that it’s not a big deal at all.

I really like the two tone seat style, but to each their own.
I bet Lucid would love to accommodate this request. It's a company that has only just begun selling cars, who only has one manufacturing plant which as far as we know hasn't produced more than a 1000 cars yet. I imagine the complexities of manufacturing a car, supply chain (parts from provided by third parties who aren't equipped to handle one off requests), are some possible reasons that come to my mind, and are reasons for me give Lucid a little slack here. And to DMB65 point, they have enough demand at the moment. Expanding their options will have to be made in their future if they wish to maximize their sales, and I certainly hope to see that one day. Right now, not so much a priority.

The only companies I know that give you the level of customization over seats as you are asking for are Porsche, Bentley, Ferrari, etc.

It’s very very rare for an auto company to allow this degree of customization. Porsche is the cheapest of those companies, and while is closeish to the luxury level (honestly, our Taycan And Lucid Air DE are about the same luxury level, just very different styles), they are the only one.

Lucid is much too small to allow that level of customization.

FWIW I love the two tone. I prefer light interiors (o hate black interiors), but light front seats get dirty easy, this is the best of both worlds from my perspective. However, I could also see disliking it.

As a very interested prospective buyer, the different color seats are a deal killer for me. Hopefully the designers will catch up by the time the Lucid service network does.

I am a reservation holder and very impressed with many things about this car. The two the two tone seats are one of the things holding me back from ordering. I would also like a sunroof that opens, a hatchback and air suspension. I realize nothing is perfect for everyone's taste, but this car has too many drawbacks for me to pull the trigger. I might go for the Mercedes EQS which includes all the items I have mentioned. It lacks a frunk and range is only about 350 miles.

Like it or not, The Lucid design team was trying to replicate a luxury business jet concept. Up front it’s a little darker with the instrumentation panels and in the back light and bright with the feel of luxury. They even chose their colors from specific times from Santa Cruz, Tahoe, & Mohave. At first I didn’t like it, but the more I saw it and understood it, I really like it now. It’s different and now stands apart from the rest.

Lucid Air is just starting production in hundreds last year and in thousands this year.

I am sure there are a bunch of third party suppliers eyeing to change the front seats or all seats to customers taste. Their business won't be profitable for them unless there s a lot of requests.

When once LUCID starts making in very high volume, then such requests could be huge and definitely the third party will respond to offer such change.

Right now if you find an enthusiastic cobbler one could change the front leather to match the back, but may be hard to find a good one. Again what effect it could have on warranty, one needs to think.

I believe this option will finally come from either by LUCID or by third party.

Haven't heard much from you lately. How has the Dream been? Still waiting to see one around. My wife saw what may have been Bill55’s white Dream blow by her on the 56 freeway. Looking forward to getting my AGT. Confirmed the order back on 11/30 so now within the 2-4 month delivery window.

I live south of Escondido. I thought you may have seen my car since you live very close.

I had a lot of software problems which were taken care of by Lucid Service. The had two mobile services and twice hauled my car in en enclosed trailer to the service center. Most of them I believe are early hiccoughs in software and some hardware problem with driver side door handle they had to replace.

There is so much written on Lucid Forum, there is not a whole lot to add. Drives fantastic. Driving to Las Vegas about 310 miles, used up about 363 EPA miles, which was great. Normally it is said that there is a loss of about 20%. Great driving car, better than my previous Merceds S model. I also have Tesla Model S 100D, which I don't drive a lot. Just keeping it because it came with lifetime free Tesla Charging.

I added some additional chrome trimming to my car as below, mostly in front, some on sides and back. The wrapping was done in Escondido by Tint World, did an excellent job.

Yes, we are close since I live in the Carmel Valley area. I like the chrome accents and your LVLUCID plate. The other forum has had a lot of discussion about the software, but it seems like Lucid has been VERY proactive and it is quite improved now. So you were getting about 85% of the EPA range On a Vegas Trip. I assume that was at the 80 mph speed for most of that. I saw the 70mph range test by insideev got about 95%. Looking forward to having that type of range on an EV.

Well, I expect to see it around sometime soon then. I’ll let you know when my Grand Touring finally arrives.
