I'm finding inconsistent information when I search the web. I'm definitely thinking about buying an Air, but I'm uncertain about the home-charging situation.

I currently have a ClipperCreek 40 Amp Level 2 Charger in my garage. Will I be able to use this? Will I be able to set up a schedule so that the car starts charging automatically at a specific time? I've heard there's been a recent software update, but there is a lot of information floating around about what the update does and whether it works correctly.

Thanks for any clarity you can provide.

Not certain but you can now but adapters for most all plug types for example, I have a GT and can now use Tesla chargers which they intend to open up to other brands by using the approved adapter. This is why now many home charges come with several adapters in case you have 2 different make EV's. The Lucid comes with a dryer plug and 2 different connectors. You will in time need to stow several adapters if you intend to drive cross country, options are a requirement with an EV. just my humble opinion.

The simple answer is YES, it will work. But, by law in most areas, you can only use 80% of rated amperage so if you have a 40amp breaker you will get 32amps (unless you have 50, and are now using 40). for overnight charging that is plenty but will take a while. That is 32x240V=7.6kW. Much less than EA chargers. Its a big battery :)

I read there is a new schedule option in the car but have not used it. but you can use the one in your Clipper if it has it.

I had a Clipper for my old PHEV. It was rock solid but wasn't adjustable or programmable. You just plugged it in and it worked. So you need to have a car that has the timing capability built in. Lucid has that but it is still apparently a work in process. But since you are still "considering" purchasing a Lucid, by the time you do that should be resolved. Alternatively, you could replace it with another EVSE that is programmable.
