Does anyone know if the charger that comes with the car (2022 AGT) supports bi-directional charging? I know it is expected to be possible, but does this charger have that capacity?

I have a Chargepoint already hooked up, and will make the change if it does... or I will make the change if anyone can make a good argument as to why I should be using the Lucid charger anyway...

I have liked the Chargepoint, for my Tesla and it works just fine now. But is there any other reason I should consider a switch?

Thanks!

Hi,

Bi-directional will require the Lucid Home Connected Charger, however, it will also require a software update to most likely both the car and the firmware of the LHCC. I have the LHCC installed and it currently only charges the Lucid. My electrician believes it will also require some additional hardware installed into your breaker panel, but these details haven’t been released yet. He believes it will be a similar configuration to the bi-directional capabilities of the Ford F-150.

Like everything else about our cars, there is no ETA. If you want this functionality, the best you can do at this point is install the LHCC and wait for that functionality to become available at some point in the future.

Thanks - great to meet everyone here!

I had my Touring (Quantum Grey) delivered around the 3rd week of January. Had it delivered to Ceramic Pro in Melbourne. They did a full PPF wrap (Kavaca) and window tint. Picked it up Jan 25th I believe.

Crazy to see how much Ford's system can run, hopefully it isn't as much here.
I had heard that system was pretty pricy. We will definitely need something beyond just the LHCC, but what it will cost and cost to install is anybody’s guess. I think (hope) it will be less than Ford!!

It will be pricy. Supposedly, the Lucid Air will also support regular V2L which is a much simpler and less expensive way to run critical components. For example, I have two refrigerators: one in the kitchen and one in the garage. We don't get a lot of blackouts here but when we have, I have lost a lot of my food. Now I have a 50 foot extension cord rated for high wattage and will run that to the car from the kitchen and just plug in the one in the garage. That will take care of food rotting. It doesn't run the whole house but I figure if I want to cook something, I will temporarily unplug the refrigerators (a half hour unplugged will not ruin the food).

Not as elegant a solution but a whole lot cheaper. If you live where you get a lot of blackouts, and you don't have or want a generator, then the whole house solution makes sense. But remember, if you are running your entire house, you are running down your battery pack.

Are you using a ford now for your refrigerators?
