The paint job on my car is beautiful.

Where are the new scratches coming from? An overly aggressive car wash?

Yikes! Avoid ALL car washes for any car you care about - even the “touch less” car washes. A lot of car washes (touch less & regular) recycle / “filter” water (note the quotes on filter) and all use harsh soap.

I don’t know if this is true but it has been reported that Lucid only uses one coat of paint while most use three coats of paint. If true it may explain why Lucid scratches so easily in a car wash.

The paint job is perfect on my Lucid. No problems at all. Better than any car I have owned.

Did you take the car through a car wash?? Or are you hand washing your car??

as I understand what’s being posted. They’re stating that the paint job scratches when going through a car wash. I hand clean my Lucid so I can’t attest to the scratches happing in a car wash

My paint job was good with no detectable defects. I had PPF applied to my touring 2 weeks after I got it. I will never take it to a car wash. I hand wash every 2 weeks until I find a mobile detailer I like to do the job.

Is applying a ceramic coating advised?

Car wash. I take all my cars to this car wash. Haven’t seen scratches on them.??

I have not heard of any manufacture who recommends PPF or ceramic coating or a combination of the two. I assume for possible liability exposure. However, I have friends who get all of their cars protected and I know of one dealer who sends all of their clients who want the added protection to a shop they have a relationship with.
