According to Peter Rawlinson in an interview with CNBC Lucid is still planning to deliver 577 Airs in 2021. He also said they're still on track to deliver over 20,000 vehicles in 2022.
Things have changed.I believe the target of delivery of Lucid Air in 2021 will be about 1000 vehicles, out of which 577 will be Dream Editions and the rest will be Grand Tour editions.
Things do have a way of doing that.Things have changed.
Do you think yo will get your GT before the end of this month?Things do have a way of doing that.
Self-imposed deadlines are often a trap. Still waiting for a Tesla Semi to pull up and deliver my Roadster and Robotaxi (no, not really).
I'm glad to see cars rolling out the door. Surely more have been delivered than we have seen. I know I don't want my photo blasted around the internet when my GT shows up.
Lucid asked me today if they could photograph the delivery of our car, as it would help them with advertising. I told them I'd let them know on Friday. I'm probably going to tell them they can photograph the car for publicity purposes, but without us in the photos.I'm glad to see cars rolling out the door. No, late February seemed likely, but this weekend I changed my mind on wheels again (back to 21s). That changes the build order and may push me back a bit.Do you think yo will get your GT before the end of this month?
I doubt that. It’s not like you are changing your exterior color which would throw things off since the cars are produced in batches. My delivery specialist indicated that I could switch late in he game if the 20 inch wheels become available as my timeline looks like a February/March delivery. No, late February seemed likely, but this weekend I changed my mind on wheels again (back to 21s). Funny. My DA told me the exact opposite. Change in wheels would equal reset. I couldn't understand it for the reason you state.I doubt that. I think they are having some production hiccups. I confirmed my order on November 30th And given the standard 2-4 months. The 2 months are what they plan for and the 4 months gives them some wiggle room. Yesterday DA told me the beginning of Q2. So if it is now April, the timeline has slipped to 5 months instead of the 2-4. It didn’t sound like they were delivering any GTs this year but we’re focused on getting as many Dreams delivered as possible (sounded like not all). With late December to January deliveries of many Dreams, the actual timeline for them is 3+ months from order confirmation to delivery. The earliest GTs were confirmed the beginning of November so we are now entering the beginning of a 2-4 month delivery window. Hearing when the first GTs are actually delivered will enable another calibration of their actual timelines. it Is appearing to me that the actual timeline is a 3-5 month one instead of 2-4. I just wish that they would stop making me read between the lines. I agree with hmp10 on this one. Be up front if your change or your choice will result in delays. They do not.I doubt that. I confirmed just after you Dec 2 so my guess of ~3 months is now tempered by your info. So probably April for me as well. Not surprising but still ouch. I confirmed same day as you and haven't heard from DA in a couple of weeks. I figured I'd reach out after new year. If I don't receive in Florida by early April, they will need to ship to Connecticut. Decided to get Florida registration in any event, if for no other reason, to not need front license plate (thanks @hmp10).I think they are having some production hiccups. I can’t remember, did you order your GT in White or Red? I’m wondering if they will batch all the Reds first since they are just finishing up with the Red Dreams to allow them to not switch out the paint booth colors for the GTs and if you did order White it comes after Reds?I think they are having some production hiccups. I ordered a GT in Quantum Grey, Santa Cruz interior and 19” wheels. Guess the Grey in the GT (or silver) will be the reds of the Dreams.I can’t remember, did you order your GT in White or Red? I had a tough time deciding between the Grey or Red only going by pictures, but when I ordered, I went with Red because it’s very similar in color with a current vehicle I own and I’ve been real happy with it so I took the safe route in color. Maybe it will benefit me in production timing.I ordered a GT in Quantum Grey, Santa Cruz interior and 19” wheels. Guess the Grey in the GT (or silver) will be the reds of the Dreams.
This is my concern too. Hoping it's not the case, or we'll be in the same boat as @hmp10 - waiting and waiting and waiting...Guess the Grey in the GT (or silver) will be the reds of the Dreams.
