Being such few models, I have a feeling that these are cancelled orders. If Lucid made pre-configured models in specs they believe people will buy more than others, then I think we'd see far more models listed. Air GT model make up +80% of all ordered models on this forum.

Lucid builds each car to order. These cars are almost certainly GT reservations that were "confirmed" but the buyers wouldn't or couldn't follow through with the purchase. Consider that over the last month or two some people will be feeling considerably less "rich" than they may have when confirming an order. Someone working at Twitter in the Sensitivity department who was heavily invested in Tesla and FTX might well reconsider making a major purchase just now.

So based on the writing of the email either these cars are existing orders that someone couldn't fulfill like @ac.bill mentioned or they're cookie cutter builds from Lucid based on what most people have already ordered.

Based on my experience the “take early delivery” option isn’t real at the moment. I was contacted about it from my representative and basically you have to authorize them to accept a model different than what you ordered. I did this since my rep made it sound like I could take immediate delivery. Doing so would have made me eligible for ev rebate. After agreeing to it, I was basically told that I may not hear much until 2023 since they are slowing down operations and deliveries until then.

Welcome to the forum. What spec did you order?
Did they at least provide you with any extra details on the vehicle you'll be getting from their inventory, other than what's already in the online listing?

I ordered grey grand touring with Alcantara. They said they had some ready without Alcantara for immediate delivery. My reservation was made 10 months ago. Obviously after learning there’s no benefit to taking early delivery, I’ll reject the car now and wait on Alcantara. Without the $7500 risk bonus I rather not play beta rider on all that paint depth issues and software. It’s weird saying $7500 on a $140,000 car makes that risk ok. Just being honest to anyone thinking it will help them make the cutoff, it won’t.

I think all GTs have Alcantara. Mine does and it was not an option to choose.

I ordered whatever the PureLux edition is originally, to be more clear. Point being existing inventory isn’t a demand issue. My guess is there is currently an underlying issue on the cars or missing parts that are leading to prolonged delivery delays.

FYI, I reached out to take advantage of the already produced vehicles and just wanted to change the wheels. That ended up pushing my order through and it was made on the production line over the next few days in mid December. I took delivery 12/31/22. Seems like a lucky and accidental workaround to get mine sooner than expected.
