Lucid is really confident that the EPA's testing will confirm that the Air Dream Edition can get a rating of 500 miles of range.

Lucid says that EPA range certification is “currently in process,” but it recently completed a “real-world evaluation drive” with Motor Trend, during which two Dream Edition Range cars went from Los Angeles to San Francisco at highway speeds—via the central valley, then back across the Bay to Lucid headquarters. The two cars traveled 445 miles on a single charge and showed 30 and 72 miles remaining, respectively, according to Lucid.

Remember that EPA tests are not by driving as Rawlinson does, he hypermiles, while Lieberman has a heavier food yielding a 475 or so mile range that may more accurately reflect "real world conditions". If we do a rough extrapolation of that percentage (517:475); the 406 mile range may be rated closer to 373. I hope the "imminent" EPA certifications come out within the next month clearing the way for October or November deliveries of the Dream Edition.

I thought I read somewhere that EPA puts car on treadmill with full charge at 27 mph until battery dies. Can anyone confirm?

The range version of the Dream had 481 miles on 21" shoes; I do not recall the numbers from the performance version of the Dream. No information was given for the smaller battery versions.

The posted mileage on website states Dream 503, AGT 517, AT and Pure 406. That's why I am surprised and a little disappointed that somehow its been flipped for the top two. 469 mile range is still good but was looking to be a bit a lot closer to 500 on 21" wheels. I understand the larger wheels have more resistance but is 10% loss typical? I know I'll be charged up the whazoo but I feel I should take delivery on 19" wheels and put on the 21" when I get back home. We are planning on delivery at the Millbrae, CA location and driving back to Indianapolis via Yosemite, Death Valley, Grand Canyon and Arches National Parks. The segment from Death Valley to Grand canyon is an elevation change of from -200 ft. to 6,900 and 357 miles. From Arches National Park to Denver has a climb from 4,026 to 11,158 then down to 5,280 for 352 miles. Longest drive is from Denver to Topeka at 535 miles but is from 5,280 down to 945 ft. A Better Route Planner has us stopping once from Death Valley to Grand Canyon in Las Vegas but I am beginning to feel it will be two stops due to the climb. ABRP also has Moab to Denver without a stop at 352 miles. Maybe, coming down from 11,158 to 5,280 is mostly regen?

We'll see what final numbers are.

Just got the Lucid email announcement. It's only 4 miles but its still a bit of a slap in the face to AGT order holders. Dream R comes in one color, and is limited edition. All along the AGT was listed to have the top range...

The EPA listings give the GT a higher efficiency rating at 131mpge vs. 125 for the Dream/R, how that translates into less range is a bit of a mystery.

I'm curious to see the official battery sizes; the larger one seems to have settled on 113kWh. The smaller battery has been suggested to be as little as 75kWh, but if we extrapolate 516 miles for the dual motor GT on 19" wheels vs. 406 (projected) for the dual motor Touring on 19" then the battery size should be closer to 89kWh.

I guess this is why I feel slighted. It seems that the decision was made to make the Dream better at performance and range, instead of making the AGT best in range. I guess they didn't want to disappoint the Dream owners that the lowly AGT had better range.

I bet in a year an over the air update will find10-15 miles of range for the more efficient GT. Then the Dream owners will feel slighted but hey there are not selling anymore dreams right? Lucid can claim then claim a new high range of 527-532 and generate more buzz. Or am I cynical?

No, Dream owners make up, at the most, 6% of all slated first run Air. 577/10,000. If I'm not mistaken that just went up slightly. Looking at the reservation list AGT make up largest group. As a stockholder and AGT future owner, I think giving Dream owners the R option could affect potential buyers since it's not available to anyone just learning about the car.

It would be the same feeling among Dream owners if it went into production and were no longer limited. Some won't care but a few clearly will.

Dream Edition have exclusive wheel option, color, performance and different motor. That was enough.
