Yup. He did seem to have something else on his mind. Rawlings had to "push" for an endorsement at the end there. Maybe Jay was thinking "Damn. Should'a bought Lucid stock!" LOLJay seems oddly disengaged. I think he doesn’t want to piss off Elon
Peter should of get Jay DE for few months and do review after that.Yup. He did seem to have something else on his mind. Rawlings had to "push" for an endorsement at the end there. Maybe Jay was thinking "Damn. Should'a bought Lucid stock!" LOL
LUCID doesn't really need the endorsement of Leno. Everyone knows he is a Tesla fan from top to bottom.Peter should of get Jay DE for few months and do review after that.
What Peter has done with Leno is just good enough advertisement, I believe.Leno is an influencer and I would have to believe this opinion can translate to sales.
The fact that 2 key employees came out to meet with him speaks to that point.
I just wish at this point the company would wake up and be more customer oriented.
I know I am beating the dead horse but if they would build cars without the pre-configured nonsense, that would be wonderful (ex. grand touring with color matched roof, have options for summer tires on 19 inch wheels and offer a 19 inch package with winter tires for purchase, black carpets with any interior scheme, natural wood color in any interior scheme).
Lucid Air is a top quality already and there is no better EV in the world to beat it!I agree that the video with Leno accomplished what it was intended to.
We will have to see quarter by quarter how they do and executing on production levels per plan.
I would have to believe that if you order a grand touring now, you will get that in a reasonable amount of time, not in 23 (I believe they are playing a spend more and move up in priority game).
The quality part is a fun topic, some of the folks here have noted issues with paint finish, latches, software, range. And that is just in the short period of time since initial deliveries. Hopefully the cars will be solid once the very good after sales support crews address the issues. But that has yet to be determined. We will also have to see if they can maintain or improve quality as they ramp up volume.
Very good points. I sold my prior BMW back to BMW as a quasi lemon. There can be problems with any car but the real test is how the company responds.Lucid Air is a top quality already and there is no better EV in the world to beat it!
Yes, there are a bunch of small issues they have been with software and door and trunk latches. Paint iS top notch and I have not heard of any problems with paint. There is no range problem except one is complaining without all the details.
Your impression is very exaggerated and not with your own personal experience. I had some of those minor issues with my Dream Edition since I received on 10/30/21, which has been taken care by Lucid Service in an excellent manner. They have mobile service and will come to you. The technician drove over 200 miles to look into my problems. Since he could not replace drivers handle, Lucid sent a covered trailer to pick up my car to their Serve Center over 200 miles and brought it back after taking care of the replacement. No other car company can claim they have this kind of excellent service. So don't beat a company who started from scratch to make almost every part in house, Made in USA.
I have not seen any of the owner being unhappy with their car, in spite of the minor issues.
Over last 50 years I had to replace two brand New high end Mercedes Luxury cars, because they couldn't fix the problems. By the way, Mercedes started their first car in 1886!
I do understand your point, but don't under estimate LUCID!

Even giving more journalists seat time would be great. I don't see why they haven't done more of it.Leno is an influencer and I would have to believe this opinion can translate to sales.

I am actually very pro Lucid, a shareholder etc.Lucid Air is a top quality already and there is no better EV in the world to beat it!

Regarding service centers, Lucid is trying to establish as many as possible. However, if Lucid delivered their vehicles where ever they delivered, Lucid will send their mobile units for repair or send their covered Trailor to pick up and deliver the vehicle back to you after the repairs, even if they delivered the car to you in Timbactoo.I am actually very pro Lucid, a shareholder etc.
I believe all the issues I mentioned, including paint were noted by folks on this site.
From what I have read they are doing well with their service after the sale. I don't think they even have a service center in Chicagoland yet, just a sales office in a shopping mall.
I wouldn't be in a hurry to reference MB for quality. I currently have cars from Infiniti (Q50S Hybrid AWD, great car with lots of tech considering it came out in 2013 that nobody seems to like), Acura (second gen NSX, fabulous machine) and Lexus (LC 500 convertible, the only car I have ever purchased that had zero issues). Lexus is tops in Quality by a long distance.
I would have ordered a dream edition if I could have gotten in with the Mojave interior. Not a fan of the platinum roof but would have lived with that.
Back to the customer point, for those of use in cold places like Chicago, winter tires make all the difference. When you read the info balloons for the wheels they say a bunch of liability language stuff about bad roads causing issues wrt the 20 and 21 inch wheels, for which they only offer summer tires. For the 19 inch wheels they only offer all seasons which are a compromise in all circumstances. Again, just dumb that they don't let you pick 19s with summer tires and then offer a winter wheel and tire package.
