Not sure if this is acceptable to post (I know people post things like this on Tesla forms), but curious whether anyone is willing to sell their reservation. Pacifically if a person has a reservation with an upcoming delivery.
I have a Pure ready to order at the OLD price of $77,400 for the base model. How much are you offering?

How do you know, and why do you think the $7,500 federal tax credit is available on the pure? I HOPE you are correct!!!
Those who turned their refundable Lucid reservation into a non refundable reservation before a certain date in August 2022 preserved their ability to exercise the $7500 tax credit. The legal basis behind this is that you already entered into a contract which means you are grandfathered into the rules at the start of the contract. At the time, starting a contract before this deadline in August 2022 allowed you to purchase a Lucid vehicle and qualify for the $7500 tax credit.

I hope this explains!

Thanks. I had the exact same thought. Problem is that the IRS web site does not list ANY Lucid car as eligible for the credit. So, while you and I think we should get the credit, the FEDS make the final decision, and so far I don't see that they agree!

For transactions prior to a certain date, the government accepted Lucid vehicles as a car eligible for the $7500 tax credit. Thus, all transactions STARTED PRIOR TO THIS CERTAIN DATE have the old rules applied. If you were to acquire a Lucid after a certain date, the government declared the Lucid AIR does not qualify.

Basically, the rules apply on when you STARTED THE TRANSACTION. As soon as you made a "non-refundable down payment" then this is considered as a transaction started. You can start the transaction on a date when all cars had the $7500 tax credit and end the transaction well into 2023 and still qualify for the $7500 credit. A Google search might be able to explain this more eloquently than I have.

Thanks. I can't tell you how much I hope what you say is correct. I believe the IRS uses the VIN to determine if the vehicle is eligible for the tax credit. I doubt that any VIN released now would be eligible, regardless of when we initiated our transactions.

This is a very gray area and needs to be addressed by the IRS so we can make logical and informed decisions!
