True that! Either way, I'm sure there's a way to make it happen. I know people do this with Teslas all the time even though it's technically not something Tesla allows. Just hard to prevent.
A lot of the Tesla tales you hear get the facts confused or don't tell the whole story.
You cannot move a Tesla off the account under which it was ordered without processing a title transfer request through Tesla. Doing so involves the DMV, and the transfer will trigger sales tax.
While Tesla will allow you to order a car under your account and have the initial registration put under another name, that other person cannot subsequently set up his or her own account for the car without going through a title transfer. If the car remains on the purchaser's Tesla account but is titled to another person, a Tesla extended warranty cannot be purchased under either name.
I know, because I've dealt with this situation twice, once when I bought a Tesla for my brother in 2018 and more recently when I bought a Tesla for someone else this August.
Maybe another option for you to get a Lucid sooner vs. later. Put in a reservation for a Grand Touring and then check the box to be put on the Dream Edition waiting list....maybe one will become available. Supposedly all the DE's are supposed to be built before the end of the year. I know the DE's sold out...but it sounds like a number are becoming available for those folks on the DE waiting list. I have no idea how long that waiting list might be. Just an idea.

Yeah, that's a good point. I did make a reservation for a Grand Touring, but I can't even remember whether I checked that off. I emailed Lucid to see if they could double-check whether I checked that and if not add me to the list.

I have a reservation for a Eureka Gold Performance edition Dream that should be delivered in the next few weeks. I am planning to keep it but would entertain offers if you would like to DM me.

Similar situation, different spec. Following Lucid for a while and plan on keeping the car, though I can imagine there might be some people out there really interested in a Dream Edition and happened to miss out with the money to spare/offer.
For now, I think best bet for an MSRP purchase is to check the box to waitlist on Dream reservations. $170K is a lot to commit and some folks will back out when asked to pay up. Grand Touring are mentioned to be built right after the Dream Editions so signing up for one would also get a car built sooner.

Just added myself to the list. Apparently you can go into your account and do this after the fact. Also still very interested in purchasing a reservation, however that works logistically, or a car that's just been delivered.

They said 6-8 weeks and you have not confirmed the order yet? That does not sound right. When was your reservation date? The standard time is 2-4 months from placing the order to delivery.

They said once I place the order it will be Six to Eight Weeks maybe so quick because we live in Scottsdale which is 1 hour from Casa Grande??

I don’t have a flat fee that I’m offering. Just looking at what people are trying to sell for and seeing what makes sense. Any idea how much you want to charge?

Well, every company has a policy against selling reservations. But at the same time there’s really no way they can enforce it. People do it all the time. From my understanding, when people do this, they write up a contract so that both parties feel safe. Then one gives the other the login information. After that, I will just go in and change the account information: name and email address. Then when the car is finally ready they will let me title it in my name.
