Is anyone else disturbed by Lucid telling us if we made our deposit non-refundable before August 16, 2022, that we WOULD BE ELIGIBLE for the $7,500 tax credit?

I am a LOT more than disturbed, and would like to see Lucid step up on this.

We had reservation for both a Touring and a Pure. A Lucid Sales Advisor phoned me last minute and stated “If you are willing to make your deposit nonrefundable you, you will likely get the $7,500 tax credit. We can’t guarantee this, but we do think you will get the tax credit. You do need to complete this request before midnight tonight”. The Touring was a $1,000 deposit and the Pure was a $300 deposit. We took a chance and put the cheaper Pure reservation into the non-refundable category. We did purchase a Touring and took delivery on 12/30/22. We visited with our sales advisor who we worked with locally and she was able to cancel our Pure reservation and get a refund for us of the $300 deposit. It did take a while to get the deposit refunded to our card. I think Lucid will work with you if you decide to cancel your reservation.

THANKS for the quick response. Problem is I want the car! But for the price I expected. It's not my fault Lucid did not deliver what they promised (delivery of the Pure in Q4 2022). I think Lucid needs to step up and give everyone a $7,500 discount if they were led to believe they would get delivery in 2022.

You are lucky! Good luck with your Touring!

I am not sure why you are disturbed. They never said the Pure would be available in 2022. The Touring was available. I got mine on Dec 26 and my accountant confirmed that it will be eligible for the 7500. Actually, if anything, I appreciate it that they called to inform me that I must take delivery in 2022 (I initially reserved the metal top that was not released in 22)

Are you serious? 1. The pure was always scheduled for q4 2022. 2. Why tell me to make my reservation non refundable. What other possible reason would I do that? 3. If you really don't understand the issue you either have WAY TOO MICH MONEY, just don't care because you got your car, or your not capable to understand the obvious issues with the entire scenario. In any case, congratulations and good luck with the new car. You are one of the few lucky ones.
