We are doing a road trip next week to Vegas from Orange County. We are staying at MGM Grand just for one night. I called today to make sure their valet could take care of getting my car charged. I was told that they can do that on a first come first serve basis, but that the chargers they use are the same ones that are available to anyone in the self parking garage. I asked if there is any monitoring of those chargers to make sure people are moving their cars out of the charging spots when their cars are done charging. He said - no, no one monitors them. I am super anxious now that we won't be able to get our car charged during the night while we are there. I am going to an event all Friday evening, so I won't be able to be trying to figure out reliable charging on the fly. Does anyone have recommendations on somewhere that I can actually charge my car and know for sure that I can get a spot- a spot with working chargers - and not so far away that it ruins my brief vacation. Linq looks like it has lots of chargers, but are they all Tesla only? And I am totally new to this so are all 3ccs chargers level 3 fast chargers or ?? We have only charged at home so far, so I have no clue how this really works out in the real world! And if you are at a hotel valet, how much more do you tip for them taking care of getting your car charged?

lvluci - we ended up charging there at the South Outlet Mall at the Electrify America chargers - we got the one 350w charger that was working - there was another lucid pulled into the other one and he was on the phone trying to get it to work! When we left there was a line of about 6 cars waiting to charge!

We did not ask MGM Valet to charge it for us. It wasn't worth the trouble, they were so backed up with lack of staff - we opted to do it on our own.

In Baker, CA - the EA chargers were available and most looked to be working - we drove through just to check it out.

In Hesperia, CA at the Walmart - more chargers were there than we thought based on what was on the map, which was great. It was cold and dark so we didn't look at each one to see if they were all working - we went and had pizza at Pie-ology and it worked out perfectly.

It's so easy - we plug in, the machine recognizes our car and our bill is zero. Our main stress so far is just if the chargers will be working when we get there and really need them!
