I haven’t gotten my car yet, but others, who have gotten theirs, say that those features are not yet available (disabled in the menus), even with the new update that just came out. Lucid says that those features will be enabled in a future update.

By the time you get your AGT, I would bet many many thousands of dollars that the DreamDrive ADAS will be fully enabled. It’s only an issue for us Dream Edition holders because we’re so early in the like that the software hasn’t quite caught up yet. In the other forum, someone commented that the next update should enable some of the ADAS features, with more to come in the one after that.

In short: I wouldn’t worry about it.

Here's a question I would think every body with a order in, would be interested in : Just want a list of items that will not be functional on the GT, such as the adaptive cruise control. Is there already such a list on their site ? I don't mean on a forum, but the Order site.

I had a 2022 Tesla S Model delivered on Nov 29. When they called to say it would be delivered, I asked them what features will not be on this car. I was told none.

Got the car and the cargo cover was missing. No mention that the noise cancellation feature is not available now but would be over the air at some undetermined date. That long with the car not being properly detailed for delivery, such as the clear film over the dash display was still on and on the driver door sill another item not removed prior to delivery.

Yes, I do understand the lack of 'chips' is the main cause. But when I asked my Mercedes dealer what would be mising on a EQS, he named the items, unlike Tesla and 'others'.

You can ask, but I just spoke with the service guys and it's coming really soon, possibly the next OTA update. He said this last one was to fix the bug with the fobs and the charge door. So I'm 99.9% sure by the time AGTs are delivered ADAS will be fully functional.

I'm still not sure why it's not, considering the test vehicles in AZ had DreamDrive enabled, the auto steer and lane keep were working great.

My understanding is the plan is for the AGTs to have all the relevant features enabled, with the potential outstanding item being CarPlay / Android Auto. I only mention that because I haven’t heard anything about it, not because I expect it not to be enabled.

Basically, the Dream editions are “early” and the AGTs should be “complete.”

Fingers crossed but that would be my sentiment as well. I’m hoping they get all the dreams out the door and catch up with all the items not to be discussed on earnings call like status of dream drive.

I would be shocked if @borski ’s comment was incorrect.
While delivery communication has been spotty at best, everything we hear about post service is fantastic. My discussions with various leaders have also made it clear they are priding themselves on delivering what we want. The GTs will be fully complete.

A great review. Comparatively little on the driving dynamics but that's classic Doug. It's great to see a proper luxury EV in this segment... the Teslas don't cut it.

Why are they selling cars that are not fully ready for the road? Missing features? Geez.

As in, they don't cut it as proper "luxury" cars. Until the 2021 refresh, the X/S interiors were far behind competitors. And even in the S refresh, gimmicky features like the yoke and button deletes make it more of a pain to drive than it ought to be. Don't get me wrong, it's close. But it's clearly not a focus of the brand whereas it seems that it is for Lucid, and it's great to see this.

I called Lucid this morning. I asked the person if the car I finalized on Dec 17 would have a operable cruise control. He put me on hold and came back saying there would be an over the air sercice to make it operable. So I stopped worriing about having it taken to a 'shop' to have a chip installed.

And No. A Tesla S Model is not a proper luxury car. I own one and had another. Ludicrous mode on the first one worked fine and the Insane mode on the present one work fine. Ventilated seats on the new one are marginal at best compared with a Mercedes S Coupe. Lane keeping on the Tesla is not near as good on the Mercedes. I turn if off on both cars so I don't care for lane keeping it seems.

I like the new EQS with the one exception. Range is not quite enough and Electrify America has almost zip from San Antonio to Corpus Christi. Interior is very good imho. Other opions vary. I'm not going to wait for the build back bankrupt plan to improve the number of charging stations.
