I see several companies offering Lucid Air car covers - has anyone ordered from sources other than Lucid? I am not seeing the flap for the charging port on the side of the other brands of covers. That seems like an important feature to have. If you have ordered from other sources, did they have the flap or not? What has your experience been with the quality? Which brand did you order? I am not even sure I will be diligent about using the cover, but my Lucid will be out side.

Also I asked my rep today if they have some kind of paint protection coating or film available- she said no. What do you all recommend for after market on this type of product? I live in Orange County CA.

Thanks! I am taking delivery by end of the year.

Hey @Cyberwife welcome to the forum! If you're looking for PPF protection XPEL would be the way to go, it's top notch protection.

As for the car cover, yeah most of the covers available don't have a flap for the charge port. You could always cut one out if you don't want to get the one from Lucid.

Heat while charging could mean trouble if cover was used while charging! No one needs a fire!
Are you thinking the cover could go up in flames? I've never noticed the charging cable or handle get warm enough on any EV for me to think that would happen, but my experience here is pretty limited.
It does make me wonder about indoor vs. outdoor car covers though. The outdoor ones surely would be rated to handle heat, but maybe indoor aren't?

Why is it Lucid use to sell a black indoor cover and now they only sell the outside cover?
It seems to be available here:
If not, then it's possible that they ran out of stock temporarily.

What Air spec did you order?

You won’t always be able to find indoor parking for your vehicles, but you will always want to protect them. Car covers are the smart solution. Whether used as an emergency backup or an everyday item, the benefits of utilizing a quality car cover is hard to exaggerate. The lifespan of your vehicle can be enhanced both indoors and outdoors by using a car cover, and using one can protect your vehicle from damage ranging from dust particle scratches to blunt force impact. When made with weatherproof materials, these covers can keep a vehicle preserved incredibly well—anywhere. A customized car cover is a crucial piece of protection when you want to keep your vehicle safe.

my car could be and it truly reminded me of the condition it was in when I first drove it off the new car lot, WOW! Cruz N Shine definitely has a customer for as long as I live in the area because their level of detail is top notch and I committed to washing my car monthly because it deserves it :)

I received delivery of Air Touring Mid Feb. After looking around I took my car to OC paint protection for total PPF (Paint protection Film) and ceramic top coat. I just got it back today and it looks great. I think I will take it back to get the inside tint to block the heat gain from the sun through the glass canopy to decrease the load on the AC.
